I would not recommend using the jets in the whirpool especially if dried salts or betonite clay could clog or rust in the jets or tubes down under the tub, if you do at least clean the tub well before the next use of your whirpool.
I had a big whirpool jacuzzi bathtub shower combo and it imakes everything go everywhere.

Didn’t even get to try once I mixed the salts in a glass mason jar with the boiled hot water it became like a volcano and I burned my hand. There should be a warning.

Yes, just drinking lots of water and also green tea will do wonders. Quality food and exercise is key 🙂

I love glacial clay. Would you recommend I make a mix with bentonite and gray clay or just use the glacial clay?

The first time I make it I was shocked! When I added the Baking Soda, it immediately foamed up and bubbled over on my counter, down the cupboards and onto the floor. The second time I tried adding it slowly but it still bubbled up. I think the Baking Soda should be added to the bath water after the Apple Cider Vinegar and not added to the Salt and Epsom Salts. Did something get left out of the instructions for this recipe?

Your instructions say to add the salts to the jar of hot water, then it says add the baking soda. This step should be removed! Baking soda reacts with the salt and creates huge amounts of foaming! Baking soda should be added to the tub water.

Love these! Similar to what I use at home!! Thanks for the positive reinforcement 🙂
…..but I just recently visited the ocean, and for the first time in 40 years, came home with some kind of water parasite. I’m covered in itchy, pussing, blisters!! A detox bath was recommended by a naturopathy doctor of
1 cup Epsom
1 cup Baking Soda
1 cup Borax
1 1/2 cup Bentonite Clay
•Soak 30min
•Let body temp cool
•Shower washing entire body with pure castile soap
•Dry thoroughly
•Apply coconut oil over entire body
I’ve never used borax and was curious as to any thoughts regarding it?

• as I’m soaking in the recipe! lol!! Because at this point, I was willing to try anything to rid my body of this affliction!

Anyways, I’m way past the 30 minutes! So better move to next step…..
Thanks for the awesome recipes?

Just add the dry ingredients to your bath water. They will dissolve.

“Pour the water into a quart-size mason jar.
Stir in the sea salt, Epsom salt, and baking soda”

These are usually coated in ceramic or porcelain so the clay wouldn’t come in direct contact with the metal. If the tub isn’t coated though, there’s always the option to do a foot bath with a different container.

Also, if you keep a cold wash cloth on your forehead and one under your neck, it keeps you from being so lightheaded. Also, before you do a “sweating” detox bath, it’s good to make sure your channels of elimination are open i.e bowels etc .. so that it can release and not recirculate.

Hi Michelle, Did you happen to also add the vinegar to the jar while you were mixing the salt in? The vinegar and baking soda together will react.

In reply to Carlotta.

It happened to me too and I did put the water in the quart jar. I did not have the ACV in it. It erupted more forceful than baking soda and vinegar.

I also had an eruption with the epsom salts. And no I did not have the ACV in the jar. Just the salt, epsom salt and baking soda

The first recipe is not safe as written. I followed the directions adding the salt, baking soda and epson salts to the hot water in a quart jar. The hot water foamed out everywhere. It happened very quickly and burned my hand. Would have been a disaster if kids were near.

I do a weekly Epsom salt bath for kids but would like to try the clay option. Thanks!

Hi Katie I recently used a detox foot bath for my daughter with almost same ingredients as the salt detox bath for my 7yr old daughter – we have kept track of a reaction she had to albuterol and a few days ago dr took her of Med … I have been researching about detoxing kids body and I’m looking for something that would help detox safely, naturally with goods and eos and epson soaks. I did epson salt, baking soda, protective blend oil, lavender lemon and peppermint – it cleared her red itchy skin flare up and red spots that were coming out as a allergic reaction to albuterol :(… it seemed to clear her skin soon after 15-20 min and held for about 2 days. I was going to use betontine clay but I saw it’s good for metals. Didn’t use salt yet. I’m wondering what else we can use to detox meds from kids body? I’m also doing super nutrient green smoothies including a little wheatgrass. I wonder if it’s just going to take a few more days to clear. I wonder if you have experienced this with your family? And what would you do?
