Regular cumin, Cuminum cyminum, is what’s used here.

Black seeds aka black cumin or nigela sativa are the source of black seed oil. They are two very different spices. Is it black cumin or regular cumin that should be in this tea?

I am wondering if it is safe for women to drink this tea every day given that fennel can act similarly to hormone estrogen in body? Thank you

About a year latter my doctor noticed leg ademea and says the severe bruising and swelling could have in my words “screwed up my plumbing” in that leg
After much research I read about the heath benefits of CCF TEA! wow what amazing results. Ademea is gone and swelling around knee and ankles is gone! Highly recommend it.

I am am Ayurvedic Practitioner and love that you posted about the benefits of CCF Tea, which is a part of my own Ayurvedic Practice. A quick note- it should not be poured over ice as Ayurveda believes we should not comsume cold drinks opting for room temperature or warm drinks (cold drinks extinguish the digestive fires).

It does not aid in digestion at all according to ayurveda if drank iced…you are stating the opposite and wrong information according to Ayurvedic principles…

Coriander is something that you only have to plant once unless you weed it out. I found this because I always harvest more seeds than I know what to do with. I wasn’t looking for anything other than taste.
So I tried the recipe hot with only the touch of honey option. It’s good just the way it is. Better than I thought. But a couple mint leaves offset the cumin nicely. It’s one I’ll use. Thank you.

When Someone or a Child gets the Up Set stomic and cannot stop Vomiting, you Break a small Peace and boil water and make a tea with it and Only a Half teaspoon of that broth given to the One who is sick vomiting will make them stop. It works My Mother gave it to me as a Child and I stopped right aster taken a sip of it .

I am grateful for the comments about it being “taco tea” so it prepared me for the taste. I added cinnamon and local, raw honey. It was great! I put the spices into a coffee filter and tied it up like a tea bag before boiling and simmering and that seems to work well. Thanks for posting this! Here’s to a healthier, happier, skinnier mama!

Just brew when you want it.

Great recipe for CCF tea! I noticed Banyan Botanicals has it on sale right now, so I think the time must be right to make my own with your recipe.

I just got home from an Ayurvedic workshop, so I wanted to just mention a couple of things. Ayurveda discourages the use of honey in a hot drink, as the belief is that honey creates ama when heated above 140 degrees. Iced drinks are also discouraged, as they extinguish agni.

Cheers, and thanks again for the recipe!

I read The Prime and started with the tea two weeks ago. I don’t think it’s necessary to grind the seeds. Dr. KC recommends boiling them for five minutes. I find the taste quite pleasant and drink it throughout the day. I’ve noticed a significant decrease in my sugar cravings and less bloating.

Just started following the Prime book protocols for gut health and the tea is the best so far. I had been suffering from acid reflux with the feeling of a lump in my throat for a few weeks. I was losing hope that the OTC acid reducers could help since the results were diminishing. I started the three seed tea and boom-no reflux. I couldn’t be happier about it.
