Since baking soda reduces stomach acid it’s generally best taken at least 30 minutes before other food. Katie does also recommend eating protein within an hour of waking and personally takes minerals and protein before any caffeine. There’s more info on that here. https://wellnessmama.com/organization/build-morning-routine/

I read recently and doctors report at 74% of Americans have some type of got issue. Stomach acid reducers as we get older. Many people are on digestive enzymes are HCl betaine with pepsin. Our stomach acid of course, as you know, is very much needed in order digestive processes for many reasons. So I’m asking if you were recommendations for taking a small amounts of baking soda and water would have an effect on my stomach acid. I wouldn’t be planning on taking it with meals of course. Thank you for your help.

As is always the case, thank you for another great, informative podcast on something so simple and attainable! I have followed you for years and have implemented so many of your suggestions with success.
Here is my question. In the morning, I start my day (after a glass of water) with a cup of very pure haf caf combined with cinnamon, cashew milk, and collagen. I also eat a square or two of 95% dark chocolate. Not a great habit, but not the worst!! I head to my workout, which typically lasts an hour with a 32oz mix of amino acids, creatine, and baobab powder. I drink this before, during, and right after the workout. (I usually eat a protein rich breakfast when I return mid morning from the gym.) Can I add the baking soda to this mix or should I just drink it solo upon waking? If so, will the coffee/chocolate combo shortly afterward negate the effect?
Again, thank you for being so consistent and present with your followers over the years! ?
