Avoiding burns makes sense for cancer but I am wondering about wrinkles.

That’s tough. I personally test and supplement with vitamin D and also use red light, but live in a place with sunlight most of the year and try to get exposure whenever I can.

A sun lamp is great, especially on darker mornings, but I like to keep it dark and sleep until as close to sunrise as possible since the benefit comes from syncing with natural light patterns in your area.

I learned SO so much. Thank you both for taking the time to create this. Is there any advice from Ari or you, Katie, on keeping up with sun exposure during the winter? Are there ways to still get a good amount while wearing warmer clothing while outdoors?

I’m assuming that means in the sunlight taking advantage of the morning sun. What do you suggest for those who (especially in the winter months) are awake well before the sun is up? Should you keep indoor lights dim until the sun is out and then get outside? Do you recommend a sun lamp soon after waking if the sun is not up? Is it more important for the sun exposure to be close to the time of waking or to be natural sunlight rather than a sun lamp even if it’s hours after waking? Thanks so much!! I found this interview fascinating!! Thanks for all the great content from Wellness Mama!

There are sun lamps that are supposed to be a great alternative. Red lights can also help with some of the light related benefits. I’d also personally want to test Vitamin D and supplement if needed.

Would tanning beds be a good alternative?
