Maybe even something that is only available to some of your listeners? I have always struggled with package curriculums and am trying to design one right now for our family but it is very challenging, I would love for you to do more podcasts on homeschooling and your take on your kid’s curriculums.

Thanks!

You mentioned testing you got done for yourself & your kids to determine food sensitivities & mineral/vitamin deficiencies. I think from Chris Masterjohn? Everlywell has some good tests also but unfortunately they don’t ship to NY

It’s a concept we’re working on with our children, so it’s not an actual course…

I am always looking for different ways to teach our daughter how to learn, not just curriculum as she has special needs. This was very helpful. I am excited to try some of the insights you have shared. Thank you!

I loved this podcast. Thank you for all of the ideas and resources. I am homeschooling and my oldest son is entering high school next year. You mentioned some kind of course for entrepreneurship in the podcast but I didn’t hear a name or see it in the resources. Is the entrepreneurship deal an actual course you have your kids take? Or just a mindset? I would love more resources for my son as he has an entrepreneurial spirit and I would love to foster that in him.
Thank you.

I take them most days, with food, but I cycle on and off all supplements throughout the year so my body doesn’t become adapted or reliant on them…

Very inspired to pursue personal wholeness because of your transparency, thank you.
A question on probiotics, do you normally take them with a meal or on an empty stomach? Do you take them everyday or on/off certian amt of days. I am taking just thrive as well, and want to get the most out of the great product. Thanks!

Katie,
Thanks for including my question in your podcast. It was a simple question, but grateful that you replied with such a detailed answer.
After listening to the podcast I have been very encouraged to change the approach/mindset of our family school culture. We homeschool but I’m all about finishing curriculum and going by the book. The ridgitiy is a big turn off to my kids. So I appreciate your outlook, it is very appealing to me. Unlike you I am the worst test taker and it has really put a toll on my self esteem. I got great grades in school, but never felt confident in my knowledge cause of my test scores.
I am very interested in the second part of the podcast when you talk about overcoming sensitivities. I’ve had skin issues since giving birth to my second child. Have three children now. Was told that it is candida and the last natural practitioner told me that it was very unlikely I would overcome this condition the rest of my life, which I refuse to believe. Since my visit with her I went to a normal clinic and had my skin tested for 120 irritants. I was surprised to know that I was allergic to all the essential oils that I own (12). I am hopeful that I can overcome these sensitivities but am not sure where to start my journey. Telling you all this not because I expect you to take on the role as a dr, just would like to hear more of how you overcame the sensitivity. Thanks! Feeling the love and appreciate how you care for your listeners. ?

This hasn’t really been an issue for us, as the kids have lots of friends in our neighborhood, most of which go to public/private schools. They also have extra curricular activities where they get to interact with peers and friends. We considered putting our older kids in a private school recently, but when given the option, they all said they preferred to be homeschooled since they get through the day so much quicker then can play and do what they want instead of being confined to a desk all day. Hope that’s helpful!

I love the Q/A episodes – its like a getting advice from a respected mom-friend. I want to revise the saying “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with” to “You are the time-weighted average of all the people you interact with, including podcasters you listed to!” because I really believe you are helping all your listeners raise the bar.

I have a follow-up question about how you specifically foster/encourage friendships and community for your kids while homeschooling. My husband and his siblings were homeschooled, and so were my brothers (I went to a waldorf school), so I am well aware of many of the up-sides of alternative approaches to education. However, in both of these cases socializing was a challenge. Are your kids’ friends mostly other homeschoolers? Or do they connect with other kids after school/on weekends/on vacations? Do you run into issues with FOMO about school related social activities? Do any of your kids want to try school and if so how to do handle this? How do you help your kids bridge the “wierdo” divide or negotiate feeling really different from other kids? (maybe this is simply a non-issue for your family but it was something both my husband and I struggled with as kids).
Thank you so much for everything you do!
