Do you remember what brand of device this was, and do you know if it is available for purchase? Thanks.

The first month I only used the light for 2-3 minute sessions, 4 days a week-mornings (8 inches away from the light). The second month I slowly worked up to 6-7 minutes, 4 times a week. The 3rd month, I slowly worked up to 10 minute sessions, every other day. It seems like 10 minutes is too much. My doctor has been gradually reducing thyroid meds every 4 weeks. So far, I’ve gone from 90/15 down to 50/12.5. Did you stick with 5 minutes daily as you were reducing your meds or did you eventually work up to longer sessions? I hope it worked out for you to titrate down to a low dose or to discontinue the meds completely. Can you share how you continued with your sessions and how it worked out for you?

Same benefits as far infrared lights but penetrates deeper past the water jn your body to the cellular level. I love it because it DOES heat your body directly but not the air around you like a dry or wet sauna would. More tolerable especially for children. I say it is cozy like the womb, the perfect amount of warmth.

It may overheat the red light unit since a sauna gets to such high temperatures. You can check with the manufacturer of your red light though to be sure.

I go to health spa and use their bed for 20 min. 3 times a week. I could go every day if I had the time. It looks like the old tanning beds. I’ve been dealing with situational depression and it has really helped. When I leave I am so relaxed and sleep much better. Also, my body and skin, look and feel better. They also have a red light sauna.

Do you use a green tea serum before red light therapy?

I bought a Mito Red Light since they use 5watt bulbs for higher irradiance. Most other manufacturers use 2 and 3w. They are also more affordable.

I’d be interested to know if you think there’s any truth to using oils as a combo with RLT enhancing its benefits? I saw an article about that, but not sure if the research really supports that idea.

Can I just buy a bulb, and put it into a light-socket in my home?
Perhaps a lamp or bathroom light fitting, to use when I bagh or relax kn a couch.

Hi Rissy,

I’ve been through the drill before buying my device. They make such a big deal about the EMFs on red light therapy devices.

But it isn’t anything to worry about. Electric radiation under 2 volts per meter is safe and magnetic radiation under 50 volts per meter is safe.

Almost all devices available in the market don’t even come close to those levels.

While the best EMF absorption level is zero, biologists and other scientists have determined that certain levels of EMF exposure pose little to no threat of harmful health effects.

In our homes we are surrounded by more EMF than that with normal light bulbs, our phones and what not. Don’t worry about it, but I would still check that the manufacturer has the EMF levels clearly mentioned. Go for 0 EMF if possible, but anything under 20 is medically safe.

I did personally use it while pregnant, but I would definitely ask your doc or midwife to make sure!

Is RLT ok to use while pregnant? I’ve read many articles online that RLT is safe during pregnancy. I have recently bought a Joovv light and cannot wait to start my treatment as I too was diagnosed with Hashimotos. My only concern is the new Joovv model has Red Light therapy and now also has Infared Light Therapy which penetrates deeper so wonder if that’s ok for pregnancy.
