Would you recommend it to help improve circulation (I’ve read it’s good for that) in men WITHOUT creating an imbalance in their hormones (most commonly used to balance women’s hormones)?

They gave off a scent similar to mashed potatoes when cooking and had a very “meaty” taste for a green. They were filling and delicious. Such a “meaty” flavor was surprising from a green. I used leaves from a plant that had only a few leaves in the very early spring. Thank you for this information. I have only recently begun to learn about the benefits of these wild plants. How long I have been pulling some of them out of my garden when I ought to instead have been planting them in!

I always enjoy and learn great information from your blog. But… please check the photo for Creeping Charlie — it looks like purple dead nettle (Lamium purpureum) to me. Purple dead nettle is widely noted as an edible and medicinal backyard herb, so you can tweak and re-title the post as “*Six*Backyard Herbal Remedies to Harvest!”

best regards,
Melissa

I have about 100′ by 6′ of what you have helped me recognize as purselane….. I am so happy to know that a plant that I thought looked ‘good’, is good!

I have gathered and used most of the herbs you mentioned. I love Dandy lion greens sauteed with EVOL and garlic. I have also made jelly and wine out of it. People would be amazed at what they would find in their back yards that they can make into a nutritious meal for the family.

You should have a show on TV! There is no one like you. I feel so lucky to have found you while recovering from an Achilles tear…I’m 50 and a full time mail carrier who has survived a stroke when I was 41. I adore you. You’re just wonder filled.

When my kids are congested i put mullein leaf in a pot and put it to boil, then very carefully, so they don’t burn themself, have my child breath the steam from the pot. Mullein is great for cough, congestion and it’s even supposed to help with asthma. Also, adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the same pot is great! Hope this helps 🙂

Kudzu? I tincture the flower in 40% alcohol and use it for afflictions of a weak spleen such as anxiety, worry, and immune related things. The herb is cool and moist, very yin.

We are all natural and unvaccinated so we are very healthy most of the time. Are there any specific herbs that are safe to use to on him to relieve the chest congestion? I have been using these very wild cherry drops from the local health store but I think it gave him an upset stomach. Any advice would help!
